Primary Duties and Responsibilities, other duties maybe assigned as business needs determine:
- Primary Task (50%) – Supplier and Part Qualification
- Conduct onsite supplier assessments such as Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHS&S) and Social Accountability.
- Lead cross functional teams to develop and approve part qualifications/PPAP's
- Supports Engineering in developing test plans and procedures designed to qualify product to meet design, marketing and quality standards and targets
- Participates in design reviews and team meetings; ensure adherence to quality discipline and rigor. Little oversight/assistance in driving supplier development and continuous improvement activities.
- Second Task (30%) – Supplier and Part Quality Sustainment
- Work with suppliers to drive the reduction of Oregon tool internal and external Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ)
- Leads key suppliers to develop their technical capabilities and quality systems
- Maintains Supply Chain Quality metrics and reporting
- Actively manages warranty claims and customer complaints (external) and nonconforming material (NCM) (internal) occurrences
- Initiates Corrective Actions/Preventive Actions (CAPA) including supplier training/coaching as necessary
- Interpret warranty and return data against voice of the customer, safety, compliance and performance specifications
- Works with cross functional teams to monitor - audits, testing, and inspection data to ensure ongoing production meets requirements
- Third Task (20%) – Continuous Improvement
- Takes direction on evaluating and measurably improving quality processes
- Supports supply chain with supplier scorecard/certification program and status
- Help establish and implement new standards, thought processes, strategies while leading special projects
Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field required
Knowledge & Experience:
- At least 8 years quality experience with 5 years SQE role.
- English can be the work language.
- Has training in basic lean principles and concepts
- Understands key business drivers, uses this understanding to accomplish own work
- Trained in Lean Six Sigma concepts/tools
- Has limited understanding of general business principles
- Mechanical background in consumer products including work with zinc and aluminum die-casting, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication/stamping, finish evaluations (powder coating, wet painting & plating)
Skills/Abilities:
- Production part approval process (PPAP) knowledge
- Quality tools experience (PFMEA, Gauge R&R, SPC, process capability analysis, Problem Solving Tools, etc.)
- Experience with ISO 9001 / TS-16949
- Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner
- Uses existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
- Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms

- Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams who are globally dispersed

Availability:
- Available to work on site as required by job
- Eligible for domestic and international travel
