I started at Meihua Caiyuan (MHCY) Internationnal preschool in the international division on November 1st, 2023. Class K2b was assigned to me since their previous teacher was on medical leave for an undisclosed period. I jumped right into the classroom on my first day and started teaching them. The school mainly used Oxford reading tree and Oxford reading world for stories and phonics. They also used a curriculum from Cambridge university called Power up! for main topics, sentence building and general knowledge. This school didn’t have a proper curriculum in place either and teachers and academics directors were discussing unit topics together to build the units during the semester.

August 2022-November 2023: Beginning of my contract with Huize Financial Street, Yuetan campus as a Full-time homeroom English teacher for a K3 class of 16 students. The school didn’t have a proper curriculum in place, and I was given a simple one called Doodletown from MacMillan Education. From There, I was creating and teaching my own lessons. All resources and teaching materials were expected to be furnished by the foreign teacher. Despite all that, I am truly grateful for the opportunity they gave me and how they helped with my professional development. Unfortunately, this school started to have multiple management issues and other problems that led to me resigning and ending my second contract in late October 2023.
